ISSA Chicago Chapter Membership Guidelines

The Chicago Chapter of the ISSA (the Chapter) welcomes members from diverse backgrounds and industries in order to promote professional development, to enhance understanding, and to share information between security professionals. Membership has many privileges such as subsidies for conferences and training classes, access to the "Members Only" Section of the Chapter website, discounts at dinner meetings and events, and the monthly Password newsletter. The Chapter website is http://www.issa-chicago.org/

Requirements (i) Professionals who have as their primary responsibility information systems security in the private or public sector, or professionals supplying information systems security consulting or advisory services; or (ii) educators, students, attorneys, and law enforcement officers having a vested interest in information security; or (iii) professionals with primary responsibility for marketing or supplying information on security products and services.

The ISSA does not discriminate race, color, religion, gender, national origin, ancestry, marital status, physical capabilities, age or education levels.

The Chapter will collect annual dues at the time of membership enrollment or renewal. Chapter dues and Chapter membership guidelines are supplemental to, and not a replacement of ISSA International membership dues and guidelines. The prospective member must read, understand and agree to the Code of Ethics posted on this website.

Joining ISSA

The Information Systems Security Association (ISSA) offers a 90-day FREE trial membership to enable you to acquaint yourself with the organization. This trial membership entitles you to all of the benefits offered by the ISSA, including receiving copies of The ISSA Journal , access to the ISSA international web site, and discounts to conferences and training events. If you choose to become a Trial Member, your information will be forwarded to the Chapter President of the closest local chapter in your area. You will be contacted by the local chapter and invited to attend chapter meetings. This trial membership does not entitle you to any benefits that are sponsored by the local chapter, including discounts to local conferences or educational events. To receive local chapter benefits, you must pay both the international and chapter dues.

During your 90-day FREE trial, you will receive periodic notices asking you to become an official paid member of ISSA. If you would like to continue receiving all of the benefits of an ISSA membership, you should send in your payment at that time or click here to renew your membership.
